CEA
Institution
The French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) is a key player in research, development and innovation of defense and security, nuclear and renewable energies, technological research for industry, and fundamental research in physical and life sciences. The CEA participates within MaX with INAC institute, especially with the L Sim laboratory and the Research and Technology Computing Center (CCRT).
Research expertise
The CEA is a major research organisation with strong roots in fundamental research, providing tangible solutions in four key fields: low-carbon energy (nuclear and renewable), digital technology, technology for medicine of the future, defense and national security
Tasks in MaX
The CEA, in particular the L Sim lab, has the goal of simulating and predicting the structure and the properties of nanomaterials, developing original and HPC codes as BigDFT, TB Sim, and Fiesta. The L Sim team is the main maintainer of the BigDFT code. The supercomputer centre of CEA (CCRT) contributes to the container technology and provides some tools for the processing of experimental data.
