Institution

A non-profit consortium and supercomputing facility. Today it is the largest Italian computing centre, one of the most important worldwide. It operates in the technological transfer sector through high performance scientific computing, the management and development of web based services to the Italian academic system, and the development of complex information systems for treating large amounts of data for public administrations and health care institutions. CINECA develops advanced Information Technology applications and services, acting like a trait-d’union between the academic world, the sphere of pure research and the world of industry and Public Administration.

Tasks in MaX

CINECA takes care of the performance analysis of MaX codes on EuroHPC architectures and supports the technological exploitation of new devices. CINECA is a member of the QUANTUM ESPRESSO foundation and through its personnel actively contributes to the design and development of the code. In particular, it is responsible for the parallelisation, portability and performance related issues, including the high-level specialistic support.
