Testimonials
I benefited from the MaX on-site training programme to conduct a study on data-driven design thinking in materials science. I was hosted by the Peter Grünberg Institute of the Forschungszentrum Jülich, under the supervision of Dr. Gregor Michalicek and Dr. Daniel Wortmann. During my stay, I explored the differences and commonalities of the AFLOW and AiiDA-FLEUR workflow environments, receiving extensive support from the software developers. The on-site training significantly shaped my academic and professional path, and I am currently working on a publication highlighting the interoperability of AFLOW and AiiDA-FLEUR. I highly recommend this program to anyone looking for a comprehensive and immersive learning experience.

I am a PhD student at the University of Aix-Marseille under the supervision of Elena Cannuccia. In my research project I study point defects in boron nitride. Thanks to the MaX on-site training programme, I could spend 3 weeks at the CNR-Nano laboratory in Modena, Italy, where I collaborated with Dr. Paleari to implement a new part of the Yambo code. I am very satisfied of the programme, as this experience allowed me to refine my knowledge of ab initio codes and explore new optical properties of defects.
