PASC19 is the sixth edition of the PASC Conference series, an international platform for the exchange of competences in scientific computing and computational science, with a strong focus on methods, tools, algorithms, application challenges, and novel techniques and usage of high-performance computing.
PASC19 will be held from June 12 to 14, 2019 at ETH Zurich, located in Zurich, Switzerland.
The theme of this year is “Exascale and Beyond”. Hardware and software, the Ying and the Yang of the supercomputing community, have always been fundamental driving forces that have spurred mutual development. The PASC19 theme “Exascale and Beyond” aims to foster the dialogue and interaction among those two branches of HPC research to jointly move forward in the advent of Exascale computers.
According to various recent announcements from across the globe, Exascale systems are projected to be available to users in only a few years from now. Such an enormous increase in computing power will inevitably drive the computational approaches to scientific problems — be it through simulations, data-driven approaches, or even in a combined fashion — to a next level.
Meanwhile, with radical changes both in the architectures and the parallel scales of these emerging systems, we expect substantial challenges for the domain scientists to make full utilization of these supercomputers. Therefore, the synergy of experts from the different parts of the HPC scene will be required to achieve what we consider to be our common goal: to generate scientific insights.
Through its rich and interactive program, PASC19 aims to highlight the common challenges and the opportunities for computer architects, software developers, and domain experts in the realm of Exascale systems. As a multi-disciplinary conference, PASC19 is committed to promoting interaction among scientists from different domains, with the goal to collect and inspire ideas for exascale systems, applications, and the related science.
Target Audience. PASC19 seeks to engage participants from academia, research labs and industry to address important issues in HPC and computational science. PASC19 is inviting researchers from diverse scientific backgrounds to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and exchange of expertise. The conference is an opportunity for researchers in branches of science that require computer modeling and high-performance simulations to discuss computational techniques and technologies.
Program. As in previous years, the technical program of PASC19 is organized around eight scientific domains:
The three-day program includes keynote presentations, minisymposia, peer-reviewed papers, panels and poster sessions. The conference is co-sponsored by ACM SIGHPC, and full papers are published in the ACM Digital Library.
Deadline for paper submission: 15 January 2019: Second (and final) rolling deadline for new submissions (NO EXTENSIONS!)
