FZJ has a two-fold role within the consortium. On the one hand, the group at the IAS-1 is the main developer of the FLEUR code and on the other hand, the team at JSC is providing world-leading expertise in modular HPC and co-design. Being a core HPC centre of Europe and a possible hosting site for a possible exascale machine the FZJ has a long history in combining expertise in different fields of research as well as in providing infrastructures. Correspondingly, the main contributions of FZJ for IAS-1 mostly focus on aspects related to the FLEUR code such as the specific code actions corresponding to the tasks of WP 1,2 and 3. The FZJ-JSC will be involved in WPs 3 and 4 with the co-design activities as a focal point. Both groups will also help in dissemination efforts and continue their established training activities.
