For the second time in its history, the Nvidia’s GTC - GPU Technology Conference - will be held in an online format, on April 12-16, 2021. Originated in 2009, this series of technical conferences has always focused on GPUs and their potential for solving computing challenges. The onset of deep learning and artificial intelligence led GTC in creating sessions and workshops dedicated to the various applications of these technologies.
The focus is on the academic environment, the supercomputing and CUDA and in this framework, tAndrea Ferretti (CNR, Modena, Italy) and Ivan Carnimeo (SISSA, Trieste, Italy) from MaX will hold an invited session on April 14th at 9.00 AM CET. , with two talks. They will describe the efforts MaX made in “porting electronic structure community codes to GPUs”. Electronic structure methods have become key to materials simulations, allowing scientists to study and design new materials before --sometimes instead of-- running experiments: MaX's action focuses on popular open source community codes in the electronic structure field and, after a long work, all codes have been released as GPU-ready, following diverse strategies to address both performance and maintainability, while keeping the community engaged.
Join the GTC conference to discover the newest updates on the MaX codes!
